Adobe Creative Suite is a software suite composed of several Adobe applications such as Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, Premier Pro/After Effects, and InDesign. There are 27 Adobe apps, but what’s included in any given suite varies depending on the version. The last version was the Adobe Creative Suite 6 (CS6), which was released in May 2012. A year later, Adobe announced that this would be the last version and their apps would be accessible on the Adobe Creative Cloud.
Besides the Adobe creative apps found on Creative Suite, the Creative Cloud includes access to Behance (a social media portfolio service for creatives) and even mobile versions of the Adobe apps. Creative Suite experts know how to get the most out of the programs found in the suite, but usually choose to limit themselves to being experts in a few - depending on their specialization. For example, a photographer may be expert in Lightroom and Photoshop, while a print designer may be expert in InDesign and Illustrator.
Adobe allows you to take certification exams to show off a certain level of knowledge with some of the apps included in the Creative Suite, which can help distinguish the expertise of candidates for exactly what your business needs.
